When coming back from study abroad, all i wanted to do was share my stories the experience was so life changing that I wanted others to feel the same way, however most of my friends believed studying abroad was a waste of time. I realized there was not enough exposure of the study abroad program to our students nor the knowledge that there were supports for people to travel abroad. And so, I applied to be a study abroad ambassador to spread my story and show people that studying abroad can not only be beneficial but accessible to everyone. We not only started doing more information sessions and tables but we also started to go to local high schools to show them the options they had at TRU. The way their eyes would light up at the thought of staying here for school but having the ability to leave home and explore was something truly impactful.
